Annie LaPoint

California artist Annie LaPoint discovered her love for drawing and painting at an early age and always knew she wanted to become an artist. In 1991, shortly after the birth of her third child, she began studying watercolor techniques at a local art league in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although her instructor focused on landscapes, Annie was immediately drawn to painting clay pots filled with ivy and flowers. She soon became well known for her vibrant watercolors featuring mossy clay pots brimming with topiaries and blooms. Today, Annie creates art across a wide range of subjects and themes.

Annie launched her career in 1993, selling her paintings and licensing her artwork through a local company. In 1998,Penny Lane Fine Art & Licensing reached out to her, and she has been partnering with them ever since, creating artwork for an extensive range of products.

Over the years, Annie’s art has appeared on everything from calendars and greeting cards to dinnerware and an array of charming home and garden décor. She continues to paint in watercolor and acrylic, drawing inspiration from the beauty she finds throughout nature. If you look closely, you’ll notice a Bible verse reference tucked discreetly into each painting, a personal way she gives every piece back to God, the greatest Artist of all!

Annie and her husband, Ken, have three grown children and five grandchildren, and they make their home in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills, right in the heart of California’s historic gold country.
